Myth vs. FACT
With all the benefits of the Beech Ridge Wind Farm -- pollution-free energy, conservation of oil and natural gas, increased tax revenue for Greenbrier County schools, new good-paying jobs – it’s shame that so many misunderstandings, exaggerations and myths surround the project.
The fact of the matter is the Beech Ridge Wind Farm will create enough electricity to supply 50,000 homes with electricity without producing a whiff of air pollution or a drop of water pollution at a time of record high energy prices and growing energy supply shortages.
It’s a shame that a small, organized group of opponents are using misrepresentations to scare the surrounding community in opposing the Beech Ridge Wind Farm just because they don’t like the look of wind turbines or due to a misguided belief that wind projects are bad for tourism.
