Myth: Wind turbines will affect access to recreational areas in West Virginia.
Fact: Wind power projects have been proven to be compatible with hunting, fishing and recreation. Other than temporary inconveniences during construction, Beech Ridge will not adversely affect the public’s ability to access any land that is currently available for hunting, fishing or recreation.
As a result of an aggressive construction schedule, any inconvenience to hunters will be temporary and short lived. In addition, any possible disruptions due to construction will be minimized in that not all areas of the project will be under construction at one time. Due to improvements that will be made to many of the roads serving the project area during construction, we expect improved access in some areas.
