Increased Tourism
Wind farm projects have fostered growth in tourism where they have been constructed. Beech Ridge Wind Farm will cooperate with local tourism enterprises to create a complementary experience to the wealth of other outdoor, recreational and tourism opportunities available in the region.
Beech Ridge Energy is also interested in working with Greenbrier County to sponsor a viewing station and informational kiosk for tourists. Many people are curious about wind energy and find wind turbines graceful.
West Virginia’s only operating wind project, Tucker County’s Mountaineer Wind Energy Center, has become a legitimate tourist attraction. The Tucker County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau runs tours to view the turbines and even listed it as an attraction and put it on the cover of their Visitor’s Guide.
