As a result Beech Ridge will help provide energy pricing stability during periods when other fuel prices change rapidly.
Beech Ridge will reinforce West Virginia’s position as a national energy leader and enable the state to benefit from the growing trend of neighboring states requiring utilities to purchase minimum levels of power from renewable energy sources. As a result, Beech Ridge should lower wholesale electricity prices in this part of West Virginia. In addition, Beech Ridge Energy anticipates making a substantial investment in improvements to the local electricity transmission system. Beech Ridge will pay for 100 percent of the costs of these improvements, which would help utilities throughout Greenbrier and Nicholas Counties to deliver electricity reliability to their local and regional customers.
