Invenergy Wind
Invenergy’s wholly owned affiliate, Invenergy Wind LLC, is executing one of the largest wind energy development programs in the industry. Invenergy Wind’s mission is to create and run wind farms that provide clean, renewable energy for our customers and responsible, sustainable economic development for the communities that host our projects.
Currently, Invenergy Wind has in excess of 25 projects in active development in the United States and Canada with a combined potential for more than 3,500 MW of new wind generation. For the most part, Invenergy Wind originates and develops its own wind projects from conception through completion and long-term operation. With this long-term perspective, Invenergy Wind takes a proactive approach to building strong relationships with various project stakeholders including landowners, host communities and power purchase customers.
Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Invenergy TN LLC, Invenergy Wind completed construction and, in October 2004, commenced operation of the Buffalo Mountain Wind Energy Project. The project is a 27 MW wind farm located near Oliver Springs, Tennessee Valley Authority under a long-term power purchase agreement.
In early 2005, Invenergy Wind successfully financed and commenced construction on three wind energy projects in the United States totaling 260 MW. Invenergy’s 135 MW Judith Gap project located in Montana, 65 MW Wolverine Creek project located in Idaho , and 60 MW Spring Canyon project located in Colorado all commenced construction in 2005 and are scheduled for commercial operation by the first quarter of 2006.
